You might want to take a look at the Speaking of Speech CDs, available on this site. Both volumes have activities (classroom lessons, student-made posters, other hands-on activities, plus 10-question quizzes to follow up on comprehension & memory) for at least 25 favorite children's books on each CD (over 50 books altogether).
