Tough one! I would find out what he is interested in and what are strong motivators for him. Is there someone who knows him well that you can ask? Is he interested in video games? If so maybe you could incorporate the game names or character names into a board game. Or if it is cartoons use those names- use a blank board game and put * or something on some of the squares. When he lands on these then he picks a card with the character or other interest area vocabulary on it.
