I prefer the PPVT-4 and the EVT-2 over the ROWPVT and EOWPVT. I like using 2 tests that you can compare whether or not there is a significant discrepancy. I also think that the ROWPVT and EOWPVT tend to inflate the scores a little.
I hated the old PPVT. It was crowded and visually confusing. The new version is much better. The new version of the EVT is also much better because it is not all synonyms. It also allows you to analyze their errors according to the type of word that was targeted.
