Hi, I have a "r" students and agree it is sometimes hard to keep them going in therapy! One thing that they loved was creating what we called a "Road Trip". We compiled a list of target "r" words first. Next we used a large piece of newsprint paper. We mapped out our route from home to our chosen destination. In one case the boy loved horses and wanted his destination to be a rodeo. We chose Cheyenne Wyoming's annual rodeo celebration. Once we had our route drawn out on our paper we then drew free hand and/or cutout, printed off boardmaker, etc all kinds of pictures using as many of our listed "r" words. He was excited about the "trip", was full of conversation about horses, rodeos etc. Each session we practiced our target words while drawing, cutting, pasting and having fun. When it was completed he shared his map with his class and then took it home to share with his parents! They loved it too! Best of all we both got a great geography lesson out of the deal! Janet
