Depends on where it was stored. If it was stored in sunlight or a damp area, it's probably no good. If not stored in those areas, it might be good. Run the line between your thumb and index finger for about 10-20 yards. If it leaves a large amount of chalky residue its no good. If it leaves only a small amount, then it is good (the chalky stuff is line lubricant and a small amount coming off is normal).
