Posted by Rob on 1/13/2006, 4:59 pm The message is below... Rob I am working on gettting some discounted rooms for the anglers to help with some of the expenses. I will compile a list of hotels and rates and forward that to anyone interested. I have plenty of local anglers that are excited about helping out. We welcome one or more teams from the fishing club at your school. We will be giving prizes for the winners--we're hoping for cash prizes for the first three places. Goody bags with lures, bait, and other fishing tackle will be distributed. I will keep you posted on the prizes. We are blessed to have one of the most beautiful areas in Arkansas to fish, Mt. Nebo stands tall over the River Valley and the 34,000 acres of Lake Dardanelle will leave you wanting to come back and visit.

Here is something recently posted on the College Bass message board. We can talk about whether we would like to participate in a very important executive board meeting that I would like to have the week we get back from school. I would like to have one on Monday at the usual time 7 @ Giovanti's. Let me know if this time is ok for people returning to campus.
Arkansas Tech University Fishing Team would like to invite your School fishing club to a bass tournament on Lake Dardanelle, in Russellville, Arkansas. We have the tournament planned for the weekend of April 21-23. As many of you know Lake Dardanelle has hosted 2 of the B.A.S.S. Elite 50 tournaments and is well known for great bass fishing. This tournament will be strictly for College Bass associated teams.
We have a great weekend planned, the schedule is as follows: Friday--teams arrive and check into hotels, dinner and entertainment will be provided by the ATU Hospitality Association at our new state of the art dining hall on campus. I am trying to get a shuttle bus to pick anglers up at the hotels and bring them to campus for dinner. Most of the hotels are only about 3/4 of a mile from campus. Saturday--Breakfast will be provided at the weigh-in pavilion and the rest of the day will be a practice day. Dinner (BBQ chicken dinner with all the trimmings) and pre-fish meeting will be at the weigh-in pavilion and will be provided by Hodges Heavy Duty Truck Service of Russelllville.
Sunday--take off will be between 6:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. depending upon sunrise, weigh in will be at 3 p.m. We will have a light dinner before you leave provided by Whatta Burger of Russellville.
