Posted by Rob As a club we need to discuss this issue, so when we return from break, we will meet as an Executive Board to decide what additions and revisions need to be made to our constitution. In the meantime, I will institute what I feel is a fair policy as a temporary solution. "Seminar" attendance policy will mirror paper tournament policy in that you must post it at least 24 hours in advance on the message board and at least three people must attend the seminar. This way we are going to hopefully be more focused on going to presentations/seminars with a group mentality rather than an "I-want-as-many-points-as-I-can-get" mentality. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me or call me regarding anything related to the club. Now that we have gotten that out of the way, I would like to introduce a few seminars that would be VERY benificial for members of the club to attend. The first is the Bassmaster University that will be in Chicago on the 11-12th of February. Kevin Van Dam, Denny Brauer, Shaw Grigsby Jr. and others will all be there, so if you attend any seminar, this would be one of the most benificial to you as an angler. It does cost over 100 dollars to attend, so keep that in mind. Also, Bedford Sales in Morris is having a seminar where Guido Hibdon and Edwin Evers will be speaking the weekend of Jan. 28th. Cheers, Rob

Lately it seems that one of our more ambiguous rules has been causing some dissention within the club. I think it is time to address this issue so we can clarify some problems that we have before us. First, let's look back at one of our club guidelines. Summed up, it basically says that we should focus on growing our club and the anglers within club as well as getting new members involved. I think that the latest discussion has kind of missed the whole point of having "seminar" attendance worth any points. As Doug pointed out in an earlier post, the points help encourage members to attend that might not have otherwise desired to come.
