Costs of room rent and internet connection?

Hello there! Can you help me out with few things? I have this crazy idea to live 2-3 months in South America... But I cant just be lazy and do nothing. I will work on my laptop and need internet. Can you tell me following things: How much would a room/ or separate apartment rent cost in a nice safe area (preferably room with other fun people in apartment to practice my spanish)? How much would cost installation of internet line? And what would be the monthly payment for internet, at least 128k speed? I'd appreciate any info.
