Posted by Single Volunteers on 11/26/2001, 6:33 pm After assignments are made, confirmations are sent out, with all of the details, including location, required attire, etc. We appreciate that some of our members have transportation issues and this information might help. Usually our events are in the downtown core or easily accessibile (Jubilee, stampede grounds etc.). Often it is quite obvious where the event will be (food bank, mustard seed, etc), if not, a big fundraiser is always at one of the core's big venues/convention centres. If it is not easily accessible by public transit (like Operation Christmas Child) we do note that in the sign up invitation or on the web-site.
We cannot have people showing up at an event if they were not assigned to it. Some of our events only need 6 people and additional members showing up on our behalf could be embarrassing and perhaps crowd out a small work space.
