Posted by Single Volunteers on 11/22/2001, 12:23 am There are many places on the net to get an free email address and you can gain internet access through the library, work, a friend's place, or a cyber cafe. The biggest concern is that when you sign up for events confirmations with the final details are sent to those assigned - you need that information. When you receive a confirmation for an event, you must show up as we have committed to the organization for your attendance. If you cannot make an event, we need a cancellation from you (email is preferred). We have people on our membership list who participate successful this way, with some effort.
Without regular access to email it is almost impossible to participate with our group. Some of our members use a friend's email address and rather succesfully. That friend will have to be someone you frequently associate with or very reliable because if you sign up for an event and we confirm you, we do need your attendance.
