It is after the deadline and I didn't receive a confirmation.

You may have been put on a waiting list. Usually we send out individual emails for that, but sometimes due to the sheer volume of work this entails, we may include this information in an announcement email from us. Please read those carefully as something in it may apply to you. It will say something to the effect of "confirmations for ___ event were sent on ___. If you did not receive a confirmation, you have been put on the waiting list and we will contact you if we need you."
