Posted by Single Volunteers on 3/5/2007, 10:06 pm, in reply to "FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions" We are a unique singles group in that we are also a volunteer group, and our goal is to provide 50% men and 50% women, and we endeavor to have participants in similar age categories as others assigned to that event. [Our smallest volunteer events are for 6 people which means we will assign 3 men and 3 women.] If your children are below our minimum age and you want to volunteer together, there are opportunities to do that directly through many of the city's wonderful charities. There is also a fabulous organization in Calgary called the Youth Volunteer Corp, which is run through the City of Calgary that your children can participate in. If you do a Google search for "Youth Volunteer Corp Calgary" it should come up on the first page. That being said we are open to having guests at most social events if the event is appropriate for the child and there are no age restrictions placed by the establishment where the event is located.

Single Volunteers is a singles organization, and if your children are old enough to register on their own and participate at a singles event, (keeping in mind our minimum age requirement) then they can sign up for Single Volunteers. In which case they will be treated as a separate participant, and you may not always be assigned together because of limited space depending on the needs of the charity that we are serving.
