In addition to the already mentioned, Mustangs make good Endurance horses, especially those that were adopted off of the range as a yearling or older (especially as older). They've learned how to conserve energy. Mules have been known to compete too. One came in third in the Tevis Cup a few years back. But Arabians and Arabian crosses reign. I'd imagine that Akhal-Tekes would be right up there if there were more of them around, but Arabians are the predominant breed.
