Ohio will have a new 16-u team at Cookeville for 2009 World Series The Carlisle Cousins. The other 16-u teams are Farmerstown - Walnut Creek - Saltillo - Charm - Bunker Hill - Kidron - Apple Creek. I don't know how many of these teams will go to Cookeville. But will make a good 16-u program for here in Ohio with likely a 16-u summer league at Owens Field. I think Pleasant Hill, The Winesburg Warriors, East Holmes, and Farmerstown will be 19-u for 2009.I remember Cookeville from 1999 it's a great place for the World Series. I would encourage any one that enjoys Boy's softball to take a team to Cookeville in July. The Mid-Ohio team played and won an indoor tournament on Friday Jan.16th. at the R.M.U. Island Sports Dome in Pittsburgh, PA. Anyone within driving distance consider going there, it's a lot of fun to play softball in January. Outside we had 3 below zero inside the dome was about 60 degrees. Tyler you would have a great time there if you would take the Rebels to Pittsburgh they have tournaments thru February.
I would love to here from any 16-u and 19-u teams. Lets all start making plans for The 2009 Boy's World Series. I believe this will be Mike Mason's 10th. Anniversary to host the Boy's World Series. I believe his 1st. was at Cookeville in 1999. If not for Mike Mason's effort I don't think there would be a Boy's World Series any where. Thanks Mike Mason for all you do for the S.S.A.A. Boy's program and lets make 2009 the biggest and best one.
