I'm expecting the delivery of a hurricane cut 10' sabal palmetto transplant next week. I live in Cary, NC (zone 7B) and am looking for tips on how best to plant this tree into the clay soil ground I have. I would like to know to ammend the soil or not. I also would love tips on how to care for this plant like watering frequency, irrigate the fronds or just the base, etc. to make sure it gets well established. I would especially love to hear advice from folks living in similar climates (zone 7a/b) who have this tree and the lessons they have learned.
Thanks!
Craig
