Looking for some suggestions, we are looking for pups from the Black Sphinx Date Palm. The trees we know of are very old and no longer produce pups.
Does anyone know or have some ideas about taking a root cutting from a mature tree and getting a viable plant this way. I know how to do root cuttings from other plants and trees but palms have a different root structure. So any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Not even sure if there is a way of doing this with date palms.
If anyone knew of a Black Sphinx pup/pups available that would be extremely helpful. This is a wonderful fig and a little piece of Phoenix history we are trying to save and enjoy.
So any help, suggestions, ideas, comments would be welcome.
Thanks,
Chris
