need the name of particular palm

I saw a palm tree in Ft. Lauderdale Florida last December which was quite mature & tall. What I loved about it was the smooth trunk about mid-way down. I don't recall what the leaves were like but the trunk reminded me of a butter squash. Anyone know the name of this tree?
