My chinese palms can take low temps all winter (down to 10 or so so far)and be fine.Let a strong,late winter wind come, and some will lose spear.Dont pull dead spear,it dispaces water,water in crown promotes fungus.Hit with copper base fungicide and plant will push new spear through quicker than if you pull old spear.I have done side by side comparisons.Many 25 foot plus windmills in my area that have seen 5 degrees with ice for days.You cant have too many palm trees.
