Thanks alex_7b and pwest 7b for responding to my question of 30 June.
I have another:
Both palms seem to be healthy and growing, but one is still lagging behind the other in producing new growth. The new growth is bushy looking limbs if you will. What are these? Also, do I prune the trees? If so what do I prune, how, and when? The least prolific tree also has what looks like a small frond growing at the base of the tree about a foot from the trunk. I cut it off once but it seems to be growing back. Should I try to cut it off again? If so where to I cut? Might this growth be inhibiting the proper growth of the tree.
I would appreciate any input anyone can provide.
Thanks,
Steve
