Windmill Palm

I have a windmill palm that looks very healthy but has had absoultly no growth in the last 2 months. I live in Charlotte NC and I suspect it is just been too hot for it. Is it normal for a windmill to do nothing in the hot weather or should I be concerned? I pulled on the newest spear which is still compacted and it is not going anywhere so I know its still alive. Any suggestions or advise? THANKS!!
