Bob, Here is a picture of my queen. It pulled a spear after experiencing a low of 16F with out adequate protection. Alex in Atlanta uses rope Christmas lights on his. I failed to to do so this year. It has been in the fround for two years. It is now pushing out three fronds. I suspect by December it will have about 10 to 12 fronds. Last year it was broken in half by my mastiff pup who pulled of the frost cloth. This coming winter it will get heating tape wire and rope christmas lights and a triple wraping of professional grade frost cloth. the lights only go on if the temps fall below 24F.
