What chemicals are being dumped onto them and in what quantities. This may be detrimental if they are encouraging rapid growth instead of "normal" healthy growth. I had two here 8 feet tall with a similar problem planted about 6-8 feet apart in a framed exhibit area with covering in winter. One was smaller and had less vibrant growth as you describe. I applied multi-purpose fertilizer (15-30-15) and an added Nitrogen supplement every other application. The Palm over about a season caught up with the other and looked very healthy. They seem to be very tolerant and tough plants at least until they get so large they must be removed to another location as in my case, but they still thrived.
