Horticultural Oil is cheap and will help with this problem as well. The sago palm as it is commonly referred to, will handle the pruning well and it is likely that new fronds should take the place of the old very soon. Its a great looking sago and very valuable at that size. Its actually not a palm. I believe the scientific name is Cycas Revoluta and its on of the oldest plants, dating back to the pre-historic age, as I understand it. Enjoy!
