A Message from David Casella from First Coast Palm Society, i. e., the Jacksonville chapter of the IPS:
Hello Everyone,
I wanted to notify all of you for our Spring 2008 FCPS Meeting. Merrill
Wilcox has invited all of us to his two gardens. The meeting will be held on
Saturday April 5th. @ 10:30 am. I know it sounds early, but since this is an out
of town meeting and there are two gardens to tour, we wanted to make sure there
will be enough time for the event. Merrill has one of the most mature
and established palm gardens in our society. The first location we will be
meeting at 10:30 am is at :
2911 NW 30th. Terrace
Gainesville, FL. 32605-2728 here we will tour the garden for 1-2 hours and
then we will go over to the second location at (approx 20-25 minute drive)
9430 NW 226th Street
Alachua FL. 32615-7842 at this location we will tour the garden have lunch,
then have a palm/cycad/plant auction, for donated items to the FCPS. We will
also have personal sales for individuals that want to participate. If anyone
would like to bring any items to donate, or to sell, you are welcomed to do so.
If anyone would like to bring snacks, covered dishes etc you may, or if you want
to brown bag it, you can. Merrill will provide water and drinks. He has two large
picnic tables, but some of you may want to bring folding chairs. If time permits
some of us may want to go over to Kanapaha Gardens in Gainesville. This will be,
indeed a fun and adventurous day!
Please RSVP with me A.S.A.P. e-mail dc_palm@msn.com or by phone 904-568-4151.
Directions to Merrill's two locations can be obtained from MAPQUEST or you can
click on the link below to access MAPQUEST.
Thank You
DAVID
