Thanks Mike, I will try the mixture immediately and try to paint some of the stubborn ones with the alcohol. Do you know if it would be worthwhile to use some systemic insecticide/fungicide since the scale feeds from within the fronds? Maybe a preventive treatment? I only know they are very difficult to kill because the scale in the past, has killed some of my Phoenix Dates very rapidly. Thanks again.
