Thank you for your interesting observations.
Had to look up Conradina to see what it was! I couldn't swear that I ever met Bill Manly, but think I did. One would think he'd keep those Sabal straight - I'd like to think so, as I'd like the possibility of S. etonia up there. My apologies if I sound like one that would stuff a ballot box.
I've grown S. etonia in deep shade, crowded with other plants, before it began to show some infestation, which was controlled. OTOH, haven't seen sand pine, turkey oak and rosemary except on the deep dry sands. One exception: grew three sand pines on my Arredondo soil, they grew quite well for a while, then died in unison.
