Posted by Jeff S, Apison TN on September 15, 2007, 10:51 am Two weekends ago, I visited Anniston and can say that the gardens at the museum complex never have looked better. There are now additional plantings around both museums. The drought had Hayes fretting over its effect on his garden (just like many of us), but he's had a little rain since then, which should help. I didn't get over to the garden of Connie Mack Dobbs on this visit, but have seen it in the past. He and his wife Linda live on a generously-sized suburban lot, and Connie Mack is truly obsessed with palms and the tropics. Quite a sight. The palms and dry garden at 8th Street Median (at 8th and Quintard) in Anniston looked great. The Washingtonia hybrid is reaching huge proportions and the nannorhops looks good, too. I got a few of the last ripe butia fruit and savored them. The omeo gum and kalkora mimosa were in fine condition. See you there!

Below is a link to the fall meeting news, so I won't repeat it all here.
