I have three other Queen palms in the ground, two "Silver Queen" or "Santa Caterina" that I got from Dave Witt in Orlando and another via Joe L. from a source in extreme southern Argentina. Supposedly this is from a population that regularly experiences temps in the mid teens.

No, I don't plan on protecting it. For one thing, it's just too darn big. Plus I've seen a few around that have survived for quite a while, so barring a disaster like 1985 I think I should be okay. The coldest temp recorded here was something like 5F in 1985, then it jumps to 13F and the a few 18F and thereabouts.
