Many thanks to Ned Rahn, Jarett Gilbert and Greg Ryan for helping clean up the palms at the Bamboo Farm and Coastal Gardens. Most of the palms were in pretty good shape and the maintenance staff had been spraying Round-Up around the trees, so things looked good for mid-summer.
Some of the palms had clearly hit the water table and had taken off: Washingtonia robusta and filifera, Paurotis, Butia archeri and the Sabal collection. A new Camellia garden next to the Sabal demo area has been added with brick paths and wooden bridges and an excellent selection of species and hybrid Camellias. It really worked well with the Sabals.
It was also an unusually pleasant day with low humidity and no bugs.....rare indeed for Savannah in July.
Thanks again to Ned, Greg, and Jarett.
