Posted by merrill on July 17, 2007, 12:52 am, in reply to "Palms & Pines" An unusally cold-hardy Acrocomia is used as a street tree in Dade City in the area demarked by Coleman Avenue and HWY 98 and bypass 98. They are smaller than the east coast A. totai, but much cold hardier. Seedlings are found in the parkway between the sidewalks and the street. The smaller seedlings should be collected because the seedlings drive the cotyledon deep into the ground as they develop. If I'm lucky, the URL below will bring up the map. Best wishes,
