Here in the Augusta area it seems like we've had one drought after another for the past 30 years. Our "normal" rainfall is about 45 or 46 inches a year, but year after year we've had 35 to 40 inches instead. I have all of my "tropical" stuff (gingers, elephant ears, bananas, and ferns) planted in just 2 locations. That way I can concentrate all of my water resources in those 2 areas. The rest of my yard is planted in drought tolerant or desert plants (yuccas, cacti, agaves, and aloes). I think the lower rainfall is good for palms like Nannorrhops, Brahea, Phoenix, etc. I appreciate the lower rainfall. Good luck gardening! Einar
