My lows this winter were consecutive nights with 18 degree lows and several nights with mid to low 20s lows. For Brahea Armata, Brahea decumbens and the other arid region palms, it's best to plant in heavily amneded soil -- almost pure sand with lots of pelletized lime. That will increase winter hardiness because it produces sharp drainage.
