Thanks for sharing. What was the lows in Your area? I am trying the Acelorraphe wrightii this Spring outside in a protected spot. have you tried it? My Livinsonia chinensis got quite a bit of damage this winter, but my Rhapis excelsa had only one stalk and about two leaves damaged at all. IT is fun to push the envelop past the Sable and the Needles I think. I am trying a Brahea armata as well. IT made it through the winter from December to now with flying colors. IT is very glacous in color with a nice bluish farina, great with desert I will try tyhe decumbrens, if I find a good source. Gerry's Jungle is not shipping this year. I got a lot of material form him. I did get a couple of Chamaedoras-microspadix and radiculas this Spring to try out. I have never tried the Bird of paradise, though it is very tropical and nice.
