I have two children with down syndrome in my early childhood classroom. Both students are working with the PECS system and making great progress. My 5 year old can make sentences such as "I want 2 blue m&m's," and "I see brown dog." My 3 year old is requesting specific items using one picture. Both students are completely nonverbal. Good Luck!
