Hi All, I could use some feedback. I have a 5th grade female student. Dx of CAPD, but exhibits major ADHD symptoms. Is easily distracted, gets off topic, says everything is easy but then makes careless errors. Working on focused listening strategies but one 1/2 hour of speech seems pointless. She makes rude statements without even thinking and wastes everybody's time because she won't stop talking. By the time she settles down, it's time to go back to class. In the classroom, she is still distractable, but does better because she goes along with what the others are doing. It's the transition to speech class that seems to trip her up. I'm thinking of recommending in class services only. Any thoughts?
