Does anyone have information about the prerequisite skills for children to use auditory scanning as a communication tool? I currently have a student on my case-load who is very low cognitively, decreased motivation to interact with others and items in her environment, and am questioning her auditory attention abilities. An other SLP who sees this student for a private consult reccommended this AAC but I am not sure if it is appropriate. If anyone has information or resources to further explore this, I would appreciate it. Thanks!
