I have some nonverbal 5 year olds that I work with & I have no clue where to go with them. They are very low cognitively do not respond to requests to point, take, give, etc. They will not imitate modeled signs. I have tried PECS, but they just grab them & crush them in thier hand or put them in thier mouths. I have also tried music, but they do not engage in any type of modeled movement. HELP!! I feel like there is nothing I can do, but I don't want to have that attitude. I am a 1st year SLP and just don't have the resources.
