I have a 6th grade student with hearing impairment. She is very uninformed about hearing loss, speech etc. I'm googling life stories of deaf/hh people. I also ask her (and teachers) how classes are. This particular student needed to practice telling her teacher she didn't understand, or know answers to questions rather than just look at them and have them think she is being defiant.
