Just wanted to let you know I have had great success with pecs. I have been so fortunate this year, with a teacher and aids who are so supportive. Keep plugging along. The teacher and/or asst. have sat with me in a small PECS group, and because it is so successful, they are so intrigued by it. I follow the protocol as closely as possible and if the teachers are sitting there, I explain to them exactly why (or Wwhy not) I am doing certain things, for instance, the verbal prompts (and not using them) - very hard, esp for an SLP! We are even up to making sentences using attributes. It's been great for teaching academic skills, like teaching letters, or body parts, or even coins. I am definitely a PECS girl!
