I have recently become aware of some great resources that don't cost a penny to use, even if you are in a business. I suggest having a look at them if you need to save yourself some money. Just Google them!
Star Office ---- just as good and better than Microsoft Office
FireFox ------ I don't know how I lived without it, it is a browser with add-on and plug-in ability so you can tailor it to your needs and it spell checks everything you type. (Which improved my spelling greatly) I have a clip-it add-on which lets me highlight and save certain parts of the page (even pictures). I love it.
ThunderBird ----- Sister software to FireFox this is an email client, that allows you to have a calender right there beside your email and I love it. If you decide to try it email me if you can't find the awesome calendar add-on.
I am really gonna try hard to get a Mozilla license form of something like Boardmaker or overboard, it would really help if you would all go to the Mozilla.com project page and tell them you want them to do it!
The software I like to use with children struggling to learn letters and numbers is Minisbran. I also use this to model sentences for my autistic son (i.e. What do you see? I see 4 red apples).
Also the new Windows has come out with some wonderful ways to make computers more accessible. If you have Vista, look in the Accessories folder for Ease of Access folder and then choose the Ease of Access Center. Email Microsoft and let them know you want to have pcs support in their next build. They won't do it if they don't know its a need.
Ok so I took a minute and did some research you can find it all here
http://www.opensourcewindows.org/
except star office but star office is almost the same as open office though I prefer star for its database which is just like ms access.
Anyway sorry to be wordy but good luck to you all.
