You need to determine the level of general functioning of the child. Does the child make any choices at home or in the classroom? Does he make choices by using a point or reaching behavior? Does the child follow directions or seem to understand? Does the child need objects or does he/she respond with pictures? How does the child indicate wants and needs at home? How does Mom or Dad know what the child wants? Does the child eat orally?
