I agree with both other postings. The Springboard and Pathfinder are great devices. Prenke romich also has a larger device called the Vantage if child is in a wheelchair as it is quite heavy. Does your 18 mo. old child have any access issues? the Pathfinder has 128 icons (keys) and is pretty overwhelming. They all can be used with switches and have keyguards to help isolate the point response. also check out some of the dynavox devices as they use picture symbols and are also a dynamic display.
