I have found that most of the standardized tests are just not valid for my kids with autism--they don't understand the pics or their attending is so poor I invalidate the test by item repetitions--whatever. Something about the test has to be adapted/adjusted in some way for almost every child on the spectrum. I usually end up doing a PPVT or ROW/EOW just to satisfy everyone's need for an score of some type, but the real assessment is usually a language sample,(I know they are lots of work and time, but the results are so informative and functional), and a Functional Communication Profile. An in-depth parent interview really helps, too, because ASD kids can be so different at home. Hope this helped.
