I just purchased the Mayer Johnson book News 4 You. It gives you guidelines on developing a classroom based newspaper. I am going to work with my kids (who are all minimally verbal and have autism) to develop a paper that we will share and deliver to the SLP at the middle school to use with her kids. I am going to have my guys monitor the weather for a page, track the high school sports ( a HUGE area at my school!!) and report on it, using writing with Symbols and have a student with a device "interview" a teacher each month to introduce the middle school kids to the staff at the high school.
