The key is to remember what we already know about speech and language intervention and applying it to language output with a communication device.

If you're an SLP, don't forget the fundamentals of language expansion. You can use some of the same techniques that you use with children who are just learning to talk. Make sure you model, model, model. Model every step of the way, don't just assume the student knows how to expand utterances on the Vantage.
