I am in a little bit of a quandry here and needed opinions. If an educational psychologist (private practice)has given the following tests, do people feel it is warranted to give speech and language tests? I feel it is definitely important that Speech Pathologists do their own standardized testing but have been getting some disagreement about this from other private speech/language pathologists. Some feel that a psychologist can diagnose and determine a child's language deficits and needs. In addition to this, some feel that S/L can make a a treatment plan from this.
The tests administered by the psychologist:
-Weschsler Intelligence Scale for Children-4
-Weschsler Individual Achievement Tests-2
-Woodcock Johnson Tests of Achievement-3
-Neuropsychological Battery-2 (selected language subtests)
-Cognitive Assessment System
-Kaufman assessment Battery for Children (ABC-III)
-Stanford-Binet-4 Memory for Sentences subtest
-Gray Oral Reading Tests-4
Thanks for any opinions. Also, what language tests are people using for school age students these days?
