Help! I am seeing a 2 year, 3 month old boy who was born at 23 weeks. When he came in almost a year ago, his expressive and receptive language skills were delayed. His receptive skills have now caught up, but expressive language is still significantly delayed. He does not say any words other than "mama" and "dada." He can make the /m, p, b, t, d, s, i/ and "uh" sounds consistently in isolation and CVs. He is beginning to imitate CVCVs, but with less accuracy and some inconsistency. Is this apraxia or phonological delay??? I currently only see him once/week; should he be seen more often? I'd appreciate ANY feedback! Especially from Dawn
