He needs to learn correct central airflow production for the /s/. You can have him swallow all day, but it's not going to correct a lateral /s/. As you said, it's only a temporary fix. He doesn't really have any more saliva than anyone else. It's just that his airstream is directed laterally where the saliva pools, and you hear it. There are some good techniques for teaching that central airflow to those little lateral lispers. Do you have info on that?
