I agree with the last poster. I have tried to work with some of these students with no success...It can NOT be treated like a SLI, b/c it is an axiety based disorder.
Suggestion: Set up a communication board or system in the classroom so the students can communicate non-verbally. He can even carry around a mini pocket AAC device with pictures. I would definately have the child's name, address, and phone number in losts of places (i.e. backpack, coat, shirt, incase he gets lost.
