I use mostly a literacy based approach and what I do for grammer is pull out vocabulary words from the text. Then, we practice putting those words into grammatically correct sentences. Depending on what the student's need is, you can pull words that specifically target their goals, (i.e., noun phrase + verb and proposition). Also, if you see more than 1 student together, you can come up w/ a word bank from the text themselves. Then, they can take turns to see who can create the best/most grammatically correct, longest, most adjectives, etc sentences. Whoever makes the best sentence gets a point and it becomes a fun game. You can also scramble sentences from the text and have them reorder them to be grammatically correct. They can identify different parts of the sentence and label. Have fun!
